Alexander Girard (1907–1993) was one of the most influential textile artists and interior designers of the twentieth century. He created worlds of colourful opulence in which everything was precisely and artfully coordinated, from the smallest details to the big picture.
Among Girard’s most well-known works is the stunning interior design of the legendary New York-based restaurant La Fonda Del Sol (1960). The restaurant’s central motif was the sun, which — in countless variations created by Girard — covered every little detail of the interior.
The playful suns in Alexander Girard’s “Coloring Book – La Fonda del Sol” will inspire both young and old to draw and paint for hours on end!
